  14th Annual Meeting
May 2-3, 2003
Bayview-Wildwood Resort

THEME: “From Child & Youth Development
to Human Development”

This theme of this year’s Annual Meeting centered on how the relationship between the social, physical and mental development of children and adolescents is linked to human development and the broader social growth and development at the scale of the nation.

The speakers assembled for this year’s program spoke to this framework, addressing the critical “pathways” of health, education, and social inclusion.

Governor of the Bank of Canada
Former Deputy Minister of Health Canada

David Dodge discussed the relationship between society’s investment in children and youth and later benefits to them, and to society as a whole. Mr. Dodge’s experience as Deputy Minister of Health Canada, and Governor of the Bank of Canada, has given him considerable insight into the work of the World Bank, and to the subject of investment in children and youth.
