| Each year we receive feedback
from our membership on this theme of having more effective tools
of communicating with each other between the time of the Annual
Meeting. Since launching this newer version of the website last
year, we have tried to find ways for members to participate and
to contribute to the content of the site on a regular basis.
It is our hope that launching the quarterly newsletter, The SLA
Update will work to "fill-in" some of the gaps in communication
that can occur over the course of the year.
The preliminary plan is to publish a new issue online in October,
January, April, and July of each year. As in the past, the hard-copy
document of the Annual Bulletin & Report to the Membership will
be mailed to all SLA members at the end of the calendar year. Past
issues of the SLA Update will also be archived on the website so
that members can always stay up-to-date and informed on the activities
of the Alliance.
As always, we welcome your participation and contributions. Members
can write a feature article, share your news in the "Member
News" section, or add a conference or event you would like
us to list.
